October, 2007 Dear Friend, Friend…..yes, that
is you. We know the year went by very
quickly and now it is time to ask you to renew your membership in the Fox Lake
Public Library Friends. By being a member of the Friends you are supporting your Library. The Friends
group is now two years old and we have accomplished a lot. Last Christmas we lit the giant fur tree
beside the Library; we helped purchase new circulation bags; we sponsored a
summer program; we conducted our first book sale and are now gearing up for one
Oct. 25 – 27; we supported the Celebrity-Read-A-Thon; we had three portable
outside signs made; we sponsored a trip to the Broadway Dinner Theater and will
be going again on Dec. 7th….so call and join us; and we sponsored
the City-Wide Rummage sale. The Friends
have a busy fall ahead as we create by-laws and prepare to apply for a IRS 501 ©
3 status; organize the book sale; donate a $1,000.00 towards a new digital
microform system; have the Library sign repainted; provide deserts for Library
programs; and continue to sell candy bars and bags. Please consider filling out the enclosed
form and returning it with your membership fee.
You may bring it to the Library desk, put it in the book drop, or mail
it to the Fox Lake Public Library, |
